Candles - What We Allow
Let there be light! Tealights are totally welcome in their cozy glass holders or cute votives.
Here's a handy trick: consider using those long-burning tealights that shine for a full 8 hours. That way, you might only need to refresh them once, or maybe not at all.
And guess what? Church-style candles are more than fine – just make sure they're snuggled inside a trusty hurricane lamp. To prevent any unexpected dance moves, give them a sturdy base with sand or something equally reliable. Let's keep the atmosphere glowing smoothly at Whistle Barns!
Candles - What We Don't Allow
Tapered/dinner candles in candelabras can not be lit, unless candles are placed in a glass holder that encloses the entire candle and flame. Please always supply non-drip candles for use in candelabras.
Real candles can NOT be used at all in the venue if there is any pampas grass used in your decorations.
Please bear in mind that the registrars do not allow lit candles on the signing table due to the presence of legal documents.
LED Candles or Battery Powered Fairy Lights are a great alternative to a naked flame.
Sparklers at Whistle Barns
If you're planning on doing a beautiful ‘sparkler shot’ please ensure that you chat this through with the Events Team at your earliest convenience.
We allow sparklers to be lit outside only.
You’ll need to supply the sparklers, plenty of lighters and a bucket of sand for extinguishing them after the shot.
Please avoid supplying sparklers as a ‘favour’ on the table. It's also always a good idea to designate a sensible (and sober!) guest to manage the sparkler shot.
Florists
We love seeing all the artistic floral displays created for weddings. If you’re supplying flowers for a wedding at Whistle Barns you can do so from 10am on the wedding day. The Events Team will be onsite to greet you and to show you where to place any floral arrangments and centrepieces.
We’ve got a cool and dry place to store any buttonholes and bridal bouquets.
Please be aware that we do not have a suitable area for you to arrange flowers onsite, we expect you to deliver finished pieces.
Floral Archways and Large Displays
If you’re supplying a floral archway or any other large decorative items such as vintage cycles, pallets, decorative step ladders, wheelbarrows…please be aware that we will carefully move these items into storage at the end of the night.
If you’ve hired these items out to the couple and would prefer to come back and dismantle them yourself, please get in touch to arrange collection at midnight on the night of the wedding.
Drop Off and Collect Your Items
Wedding suppliers can arrive from 10am on the wedding day with the couple’s exclusive use starting at 11am.
Items must be collected at 9.30am the morning after the wedding. We unfortunately can't store items for any longer periods of time.
We don't allow...
Due to our countryside location we do not allow Chinese Lanterns or Balloon Releases (We like happy farm animals and wildlife!)
Fireworks are not allowed.
Hay Bales are not allowed.
We provide all the furniture at Whistle Barns and we don’t allow other furniture to be used.
Chair Sashes & Bunting
We cannot fix chair sashes in place due to the amount of time it takes on the morning of the wedding. However, we have some amazing Venue Dressers on our Handpicked Suppliers List who can supply and fit your chair sashes from 10am on the big day.
Bunting and fairy lighting should be made/ordered to the correct sizes, and supplied untangled with setup instructions ready to hang .
