If you're considering a church ceremony, you might be wondering how it all lines up with your wedding timings at Whistle Barns.

Outlined below is a sneak peek at a sample church wedding timings that will help you picture how your big day could unfold.

This schedule aligns with our suggested 1.30pm ceremony time, which might not match your own preference. Our Events Team will help you to figure out the ideal timings for your day. You'll sort out all the details well ahead of your special day, so everything's all set.

9am The Day Before

The day before your church wedding, you'll have the opportunity to bring in all your decorative items. These may encompass items like place names, table decorations, and seating plans. Rest assured, we'll carefully store them overnight.

Come the morning of your wedding, your dedicated Event Manager will take over. They'll have all your decorations on hand to ensure that everything is meticulously set up. This allows you to center your attention on enjoying your day.

10am, On The Big Day

From 10am, your crew of wedding suppliers will arrive to kick off the setup process. This might include Hair and Makeup artists, florists, cake makers, and more.

10:30am - Your Arrival

You and your wedding party now have access to The Dressing Room, ready to dive into all the pre-wedding excitement.

Your photographer might want to hop in too, capturing those beautiful 'getting ready' moments. It's all about preserving the magic!

12pm - The Church

Ninety minutes before the ceremony begins, one of you will make your way to the church ready to greet your guests.

It's also a perfect chance to snap some pre-ceremony pics and capture those pre-wedding vibes.

1:30pm - Church Ceremony

A church ceremony typically lasts around 20 to 45 minutes, depending on the specific religious traditions and denomination. The length can also be influenced by the number of readings and hymns you include.

We'll have a chat about this beforehand to ensure we carve out ample time in your schedule for everything else when you return.

2pm - Photography

As your guests head to Whistle Barns to join the Drinks Reception, you might consider hanging back at the church. t's a prime time to snag a few more post-ceremony snapshots with your nearest and dearest before you join the party.

2:30pm - Drinks and Socialise

Guests will be welcomed into The Engine Room Pub and onto the lakeside decking, greeted with trays of celebratory drinks.

Drinks Receptions usually roll for around an hour and a half – the perfect time for those beautiful couple shots. While your loved ones are mingling and sipping their drinks, you two can slip away to explore Whistle Barns. Your photographer will seize these precious moments when it's just you two, freshly married.

4:30pm - Lakeside Dining Room

The doors glide open, unveiling the stunning Lakeside Dining Room. Everyone's invited to settle into their seats, poised to welcome the newlyweds with cheerful applause and overflowing joy.

4:45pm - Wedding Breakfast

Get ready for a truly delightful chapter of your day! It's time to enjoy your tailor-made menu and handpicked wines, all impeccably presented by our exceptional catering crew.

6:15pm - Share A Few Words

This is typically the prime moment for your dear ones to dish out some heartfelt words on this extraordinary day. We can provide a wireless microphone to make sure every single word reaches eager ears. Plus, it keeps the energetic speakers in full swing without any tethering!

7pm-8pm - Socialise

Now it's time to mingle and enjoy the pub.  To keep spirits high, you can opt for a bit of entertainment. Magicians or acoustic live music are top picks to keep both daytime and extra evening guests entertained and energised. 

8pm - The First Dance

It's time to make your debut on the dancefloor as the newlyweds!

When it comes to your first dance, the style is entirely up to you. Whether you prefer a laid-back vibe or a more formal touch. The choice is yours. Whether you opt for a DJ, a live band, or even a ceilidh to ignite your evening celebrations. Our Handpicked Supplier List is ready and waiting with a host of recommendations.

8:30pm - Evening Refreshments

Rev up your guests' spirits for the evening fun with a lineup of delectable and creative bites. It's a fantastic way to infuse some energy into your attendees, ensuring the dancefloor stays vibrant and lively throughout the night.

11:45pm - Last Orders

Midnight - The Pub Closes, All Guests Depart

When the clock chimes midnight, it's the cue to make your way to your chosen accommodation for the night.

12:15am - Whistle Barns Closes

12:30am - All Guests To Have Departed Whistle Barns

Our dedicated team ensures the safe transfer of all your remaining belongings to secure overnight storage. Any unused beverages will also be carefully stored. These will await your collection on the subsequent morning, either at a 9am or 9:30am slot.
